Scope and Content

This collection reflects L.C. Bishop's professional and recreational pursuits. The largest series is correspondence with, among others, Robert Carey, Paul Henderson, and Wyoming politicians, about his professional career and activities, trails and historic sites in Wyoming, the Oregon trail, the Wyoming Historical Society, the Wyoming Pioneer Society, and the development of the Pioneer Museum.

Biographical Note

L.C. Bishop was a county surveyor, consulting engineer, and state engineer of Wyoming (1939-1957). A native of Wyoming, he enjoyed studying Wyoming trail history (particularly Oregon Trail) and archaeology and collecting Indian artifacts. He was a founding member of the Wyoming Pioneer Association, and later in life, an active member in the Wyoming Historical Society
