Community cookbooks published around Wyoming. Many of the books were compiled and published by local religious organizations, women's clubs, government units, and non-profit organizations. Single author cookbooks published in Wyoming or by Wyoming authors or businesses are also included.
Some books include recipes submitted by notable people and their families like presidents, governors, actors, singers, and local politicians. Also of note are favorite... recipes from businesses, organizations, or school lunch rooms.
Short histories of publishing organization and lists of officers are often included.

Historical Note
Local cookbooks provide a glimpse into the kitchens of everyday cooks and document an aspect of the lives of women who may not appear in other archival records. The recipes and techniques described show asimilation or separateness of ethnic groups, adoption of new technology, the availability of convenience foods, prevelent thoughts on healthy foods and diets, and ingenuity of local cooks. Sprinkled throughout the books may be family stories or memories... related to certain foods.
