Guide to the Robert W. Postin Collection
Scope and Content
These architectural records range from plans, maps and files regarding work on churches, schools, business, residences, and government buildings, etc. Of note are plans for the restoration of the Tivoli Building and St Mark’s Episcopal Church, both historic buildings in Cheyenne. Examples of important commercial buildings include the YMCA, Saratoga Inn, Tri-State Steel Company, Burger Inn’s throughout the region, and Frontier Park grand stands and cafeteria. Governmental building plans in the collection range from the Cheyenne Municipal Airport, to the VA Hospital, FE Warren Air Force Base, and University of Wyoming. The sets of plans were assigned arbitrary numbers and added to the Map Case Collection database. When they were received, some of the sets were split throughout the collection and assigned individual plan numbers. The administrative records include two series, job files and correspondence files. The job files may include transmittal sheets, contracts, invoices, bids, calculations, plats, covenants, handwritten notes and reference materials. The administrative files may include letters, taxes and bills paid, resumes, architect licensing information, and research files.
