Scope and Content

This collection consists of correspondence to and from Hooker. The Wyoming State Historian is the main correspondent. Topics include suggested contacts for articles, acquaintances, historical artwork, reminiscences, topics for articles, Fort Fetterman, and John Hunton. Also included are a Wyoming State Fair address, a state flag order, and manuscripts titled "Fort Fetterman" and "The Cheyenne Trail."

Biographical Note

William F. Hooker was a freighter in eastern Wyoming Territory in the 1870s. After leaving Wyoming he became a newspaper reporter, and served as editor for publications in various cities.
