Scope and Content
Collection chiefly includes correspondence and petitions for pardons during Moonlight's term as governor of the Wyoming Territory; together with material relating to the organization of Natrona and Sheridan counties, Wyoming, and the disposition of Fort Sanders military reservation land. Subjects discussed in the governor's correspondence include appointments, pardons, livestock, requisitions and extraditions, Indians, militia, land laws and settlement, University of Wyoming, legislation, game and fish matters, post offices, celebration of Independence Day, an addition to the penitentiary in Laramie, and administrative and financial matters.
