Bar dockets are copies of trail docket for the use of the bar. Civil cases appear in the order in which they were heard in court. In a larger perspective, bar dockets record the progress of civil cases. Entries list names of plaintiff, defendant, and attorneys, and comments about the trial or proceedings. Throughout most of the volumes the remarks section is left blank or reads "trial" or "continued".
