Scope and Content

From the Collection:

Case files, dockets, and administrative records filed with the Big Horn County Justice of the Peace and County Courts ranging from criminal, civil court records to hunter and guide affidavits, coroners inquest, and election certificates. Cases heard by the Justice of the Peace Courts involved misdemeanor charges. Felony cases were either dismissed or bound over to the County District Court. Cases heard by the County Courts could involve either misdemeanor or low-level felony charges.
