Scope and Contents
Arrangement: Chronological by receipts or disbursements or by fund, category or account.
Journals are daily recordings of monies received from fees, licenses, fines, taxes, interest and deposits and monies spent on salaries, supplies, expenses and services. Information includes name, receipt number, warrant number, date, amount, and for receipts, a short description on the nature of the entry.
Vol. A1 was used originally as a personal journal of John Smith of Hopkinton, Kansas (1869-1870). In the front is an expense ledger and in the back is a diary and several poems.
Vol. A contains a register of recording fees and is indexed by name of applicant. The volume is labeled "Clerk's Ledger" and was probably first used by the County Clerk.
Vol. 2 contains entries on the status of the Police Fund and the General Fund for the City of Laramie in 1885.
