Reports on traffic accidents. Entries give name of officer, name of all parties, date, place, time and history of the accident. Hand drawn pictures accompany the statements.

The general records include the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, reports on activities and finances of the Committee, the Committee's Planning Newsletter, and newspaper clippings.

Minutes of regular and special meetings of the full committee, and minutes of the executive committee. The minutes relate the business of the committee and the action taken.

The reports detail monies received, mainly from the federal government and expenditures made, including grants to local law enforcement agencies.

The directories and rosters are for Wyoming municipalities, the Cheyenne Police Department Chiefs and Wyoming County Sheriffs.

The newspaper clippings primarily concern Cheyenne Chief of Police James W. Byrd, a black man; and the safety of ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

The rules, regulations and directives include the police classification systems and the duties of each position, qualifications, procedures for termination, personnel conduct, appearance standards, behavioral standards and rules of discipline.

One report (1965) concerns the K9 Corps, and summarizes the use of police dogs and their maintenance costs. The other reports, statistically, summarize arrests and criminal offense in Cheyenne.

Most of the correspondence is routine, job applications, expressions of thanks, etc. One letter alleges excessive use of force in the arrest of an unarmed black man and callous neglect of him while he needed medical care.

This correspondence concerns police authorization of ambulance services to use red lights and sirens in emergencies and then the revocation of that authorization.
