Much of the correspondence in this record group was initiated by either Lola Homsher, Department Director or Katherine Halverson, Division Head, and deals with the development of county monument/marker sites. Site development involved interaction between the Department and various historical societies, marker and monument construction vendors, highway department personnel, county commissioners, and community volunteers.
