Newspaper clippings and letters from friends to Nellie and H. E. Armitage on the death of their son, Thomas. Thomas Armitage died in a car accident on the Lincoln Highway 25 miles west of Cheyenne. Following his death, one in a series in the area, steps were taken to improve the highway. Nellie Armitage was City Treasurer for Torrington and sister of Governor E. C. Johnson of Colorado
