Jury Lists, 1874-1896
Lists of people selected as grand and petit jurors. Record gives name, place of residence, and sometimes fee received. Included in this series is a roster of Evanston Fire Department members (1894) and samples of statements excusing individuals from jury service (1891, 1893).
Indictment Record, 1876-1887
Indictments labeled "Not a True Bill" are those which were dismissed by the Grand Jury because of lack of evidence or other reasons. Information provided includes: the name of the person charged, a narrative of the complaint or charge, and names of witnesses testifying before the Grand Jury.
