Scope and Content
Civil, criminal, combined, and family violence dockets and case files from the Lincoln County Justice of the Peace Courts. Cases heard by the Justice of the Peace Courts involved misdemeanor charges. Felony cases were either dismissed or bound over to the County District Court. Cases heard by the County Courts could involve either misdemeanor or low-level felony charges.

Lincoln County Justice of the Peace and County Court records as maintained by the Wyoming State Archives consist of civil, criminal , and family violence court records. They were originally filed with the Justice of the Peace in Lincoln County.
Arrangement of the Collection
The collection is divided into five series including: Afton Justice of the Peace records, Kemmerer Justice of the Peace records, Sublett Justice of the Peace records, Lincoln County Court-Afton records, and Lincoln County Court-Kemmerer records

Records were transferred in multiple groups from 1973 through 1998
