Scope and Content

Memorial booklet, referred to as a cruise book, containing rosters, photos and narrative of crew stationed on the USS Wyoming between November 26, 1917 and November 21, 1918. Format of the booklet is similar to that of a high school yearbook.

Biographical Note

John M. Wylie was born December 16, 1899, in New Jersey to Scotish immigrant parents. He served in the Navy from May 1917 to August 1919, and was stationed on the USS Wyoming for a portion of this time. Following the war, he returned to New Jersey where he worked at a pipe fitting plant and later as a draftsman. Wylie died August 14, 1995 in Maine.
