Biographical Note

Ellison, an executive with the Midwest Refining Company, was an afficiando of Wyoming history. He was a collector of artifacts and books and author of several books and articles dealing with Wyoming history topics. In the 1920s and 1930s he was a member of the Historical Landmarks Commission, which, among other things, saw the purchase and preservation of Fort Laramie.
