Scope and Content
This collections contains correspondence, manuscripts, newspaper articles, and various records about his personal and business life. His correspondence reveals some interesting information about his business efforts, the state of cattle ranching in the region, efforts to promote Wyoming agriculture, fencing and public lands. Biographical information exists in correspondence, a survey and manuscripts.
Collection includes copies of manuscripts previously filed in MSS 186, accession H68-162.

Biographical Note
Addison A. Spaugh was a prominent rancher from Manville, Niobrara County. Born in 1857, he began working as a cowboy at the age of 14 and later in life acquired a large ranch in Niobrara County and had substantial interests in oil and banking. He was well known in the western cattle industry. Towards the end of his life he took an interest in the Wyoming Pioneer Association and published articles and books about his life and Wyoming's pioneer history.
