Historical Note
The Wyoming Highway Department was formed in 1917. It took over some of the road related duties previously assigned to the Wyoming State Engineer. It was charged with laying out, establishing and maintaining highways. In 1990, the Department was reorganized into the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
