Historical Note
Natrona County was created in 1888 and organized in 1890 from a portion of Carbon County. Casper is the county seat.
Natrona County Schools oversees and operates the public schools in the county. Prior to reorganization and consolidation efforts, the county was served by several districts. District numbers often changed during reorganizations. Schools in the city of Casper were a part of School Disrict #1, though it had also been known as School District #2. Today, only one county-wide district remains, serving both urban and rural schools.
