Historical Note
Weston County was created and organized in 1890 from Crook County. The statutory duty of the County Assessor’s Office is to annually locate, identify and value all taxable property in their jurisdiction as mandated by Wyoming Statutes as of January 1st of each year. The Assessor is to value all property uniformly at its full (fair) market value. The Assessor strives to value properties accurately, fairly, and uniformly according to guidelines from Wyoming Statutes and the Wyoming Department of Revenue.
