Biographical Note
Yount was a Civil War veteran, military scout, trapper, mountain man, and first park ranger in Yellowstone National Park. At the time of the conversations with Bryant, Yount was retired and lived in the Wheatland.
The author, Thomas Julian Bryant, was a lawyer in Wheatland at the time of their conversations.
