Biographical / Historical
Thomas A. Cosgriff (1856-1915) was a prominent banker, cattleman, sheepman and businessman in Denver, Cheyenne, and Southern Wyoming. His commercial endeavors included the First National Bank of Cheyenne, the Cheyenne Electric Railway Company, and the Cheyenne Brick Company. Within the Cheyenne community, he was active in many social organizations, such as Elks, the Catholic Church, and Carnegie Library. In 1913, he married Rose A. Martin (1885-1975), daughter of John A. Martin. John A. Martin (1852-1934) served as a territorial sheriff, county commissioners, and city councilman, and was active in the Democratic Party. He managed the Wyoming Hardware Company store for nearly 40 years
