Biographical / Historical

Coralee Yamamoto and Mary M. Patton were classmates at Lingle High School in Goshen County during the 1930s. After graduating, Coralee was sent back to Japan for a time, possibly for an arranged marriage which only lasted a short time. She returned to the United States and was residing in Los Angeles, CA at the time Pearl Harbor was attacked. She and her second husband, each with a child from previous marriages, were interred at Manzanar, CA, along with other Japanese-Americans, in the spring of 1942
