Guide to the E. Jayne Mockler Collection
Scope and Content
The bulk of the collection consists of files of correspondence, clippings, and notes concerning issues considered by the Wyoming Legislature during Senator Mockler’s years in the State House and Senate. Records related to Ms. Mockler’s campaigns and to her family are also included
Copies of the pages from a scrapbook (1930s-1950s, ca. 1974) highlighting the career of state legislator Frank C. Mockler, Jayne’s grandfather, are also in the collection
Some items were removed from the accession and cataloged separately. A list of these items is included at the end of the inventory

Biographical / Historical
E. Jayne Mockler was born in Jackson, Wyoming in 1957. She was raised on a ranch near Dubois, Wyoming before moving to Cheyenne, where she graduated from Cheyenne East High School. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Wellesley College in 1980
After an unsuccessful 1990 campaign for a seat in Wyoming’s House of Representatives, Ms. Mockler switched parties and was elected to the House as a Democrat, serving from 1992 to 1996. She served as State Senator from 1996 to 2008. She ran unsuccessfully for the office of Secretary of State in 1998
Ms. Mockler has served her community on a number of boards and has been employed as a legal administrator, researcher, and as Executive Director of the Wyoming Democratic Party
