Guide to the Marquis Family Collection

 Collection — Box: 693
Identifier: H2004-133

Scope and Content

The collection consists of records created by or pertaining to John and Grace Marquis. Personal correspondence is the largest series, and consists primarily of letters from Dr. Marquis to Mrs. Marquis. Other records document personal achievement and memberships

Much of the correspondence is not dated. A list provided by the donor, and included with the correspondence, provided guidance for the arrangement, but dates for a number of letters are uncertain. These are located at the front of the folder

Also included is a booklet titled “In Observance of the 75th Anniversary of Methodism in the Kemmerer Community,” printed in 1973. It is a history of the Methodist Church in Kemmerer and includes a few references to Grace Marquis

Although much of the collection is personal in nature, the records do provide insight into the life of a rural Wyoming physician in the early 20th century

This collection includes accessions H2007-5 and H2014-35
