Biographical / Historical

Cheyenne’s First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began in 1925, founded by Reverend Charles and Martha Hannan. Meetings and services were initially held in the Schrader Funeral Home (Castle Dare) chapel at 1920 Carey. The church had 68 members four weeks into its ministry. It was formally organized on January 3, 1926. A church building, located at 27th and Carey, was dedicated and occupied in October 1927

n May 1926 the church began publishing The Church Bell, a pamphlet with information about church activities, members, ministries, and events outside Cheyenne
