Guide to the Wyoming Survey Crew Collection

 Collection — Box: 689
Identifier: H2002-38

Scope and Content

Copy of brief reminiscence of David M. Kayton, member of a Wyoming survey crew. The piece provides little information about the survey itself, but mentions how Kayton came to be involved and the fate of other crew members. A photocopy of a photograph of the crew is included

Also included are copies from H2002-87, with lists of General Land Office survey contracts for Wyoming, possibly identifying the man for whom Kayton worked. If the identity is correct then the survey involving Kayton probably took place later, perhaps around 1881. The 1878 estimate was based on information from the donor
