Biographical / Historical

Cheyenne Frontier Days, often referred to as the “world’s largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration” and the “Daddy of ‘em All”, is a ten-day western extravaganza which includes concerts, parades, pancake breakfasts, square dancing, carnival rides, art shows, air shows, and daily PRCA rodeo events. The first CFD celebration was organized in 1897

As Cheyenne Frontier Days grew in stature as a major annual attraction, Cheyenne newspapers began publishing supplements with information about CFD events, prior to the week of the celebration. The newspapers, which are available on microfilm, also provide daily coverage of the rodeo and other events
