Biographical / Historical

Edward Burnett was a native of Durham, England. He went to Texas where, in 1880, he joined a trail herd bound for Wyoming. He settled on the Forty-One Ranch near Buffalo. He was credited with running one of the largest cattle ranches in the Powder River country.

Burnett also wrote articles about Wyoming, and sponsored and designed several historical markers. He died at the age of 85 in Buffalo in 1945.
