Biographical / Historical

Alice and Edwin Warren Guyol lived varied lives. Alice was born in Ohio in 1882. She taught school in Sunrise, Wyoming for a number of years. The Guyols were Hollywood scriptwriters. Alice was a writer and supervisor for WPA projects in Wyoming in the 1940s. Edwin was a foreign correspondent. Though the Guyol’s apparently traveled extensively, Alice’s obituary indicates she resided in Wyoming all her life, except for short periods. Hartville was their home. Edwin died in 1942, and Alice passed away in 1976

Additional information can be found in a copy of Alice Guyol’s obituary in the inventory folder at the beginning of the collection
