Guide to the A.C. Beckwith Collection
Scope and Content
Two letters from A.C. Beckwith, of Cheyenne, to his nephew. The letters are dated March 29, 1868 and April 15, 1868. The letters include brief descriptions of Cheyenne and the region. A reference is also made to the Fetterman Massacre of December, 1866. Beckwith wrote that he was at Fort Phil Kearny at the time and helped bury the slain soldiers.
