Scope and Content
Civil, criminal, and combined,dockets and case files, marriage licenses, indices, and Green River probate docket from the Sweetwater County Justice of the Peace Courts and Sweetwater County Court. Cases heard by the Justice of the Peace Courts involved misdemeanor charges. Felony cases were either dismissed or bound over to the County District Court. Cases heard by the County Courts could involve either misdemeanor or low-level felony charges.

Sweetwater County Justice of the Peace and County Court records as maintained by the Wyoming State Archives consist of civil, criminal, and combined court records. They were originally filed with the Justice of the Peace and County Courts in Sweetwater County.
Arrangement of the Collection
The collection is divided into six series including: Granger Justice of the Peace records, Miner's Delight Justice of the Peace records, Rock Springs Justice of the Peace records, South Pass City Justice of hte Peace records, Wamsutter Justice of the Peace records and Green River Justice of the Peace records

Records were transferred in multiple groups from 1973 through 1998
