Historical Note
The State Board of Equalization sets the value of mineral production, pipe line companies, public utilities, railroads, railroad car companies, telegraph and telephone companies for assessment of ad valorum taxes and fixes and equalizes the value of all other real and personal property tax that is locally assessed. It also supervises county assessors, assists county boards of equalization, determines appeals of assessments for ad valorum taxation and sets state and ad valorum tax levy.
