Historical Note

The State of Wyoming has issued a license plate for automobiles since 1913. In 1930, a number designating the county of residency was added to the plate. In 1936, the bucking horse logo first appeared on Wyoming's license plate. The logo was commissioned by Wyoming Secretary of State Lester Hunt and was drawn by Denver artist Allen True.
