Scope and Content

Promotional literature about agricultural, commercial and business opportunities in Wyoming. Much of the collection consists of publications from the land department of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.

Many of the pamphlets include photographs taken by J.E. Stimson of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Historical Note

The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad operated in the central United States as a part of the Burlington Route with lines in southeastern and northern Wyoming. The rail lines shipped agricultural products and carried passengers. Because of these interests, the company promoted agricultural growth and development as well as tourism along their route.
