Case files, dockets, and administrative records filed with the Campbell County Justice of the Peace and County Courts ranging from criminal, civil court records to marriage records, and combined civil and criminal records. Cases heard by the Justice of the Peace Courts involved misdemeanor charges. Felony cases were either dismissed or bound over to the County District Court. Cases heard by the County Courts could involve either misdemeanor or low-level felony charges.

The collection is divided into five series including: Gillette Justice of the Peace records, Gillette Inside Precinct Justice of the Peace records, Gillette Outside North Precinct Justice of the Peace records, Gillette Ouside South North Precinct Justice of the Peace records, and Recluse Justice of the Peace records,
