Historical Note
The Wyoming Department of Corrections "is responsible for adult correctional institutions, community corrections center, out-of-state placements, staff training, and adult probation and parole services in the State of Wyoming. The Director is appointed by the Governor and serves as a member of the Governor’s cabinet. The Department of Corrections has four organizational sections: Office of the Director, Division of Central Services, Division of Field Services [formerly the Department of Probation and Parole], and Division of Prisons. The Office of the Director includes the Director, Deputy Director, public information, policy and planning and research, investigations, and victim services" (2013 State Government Directory).
