Biographical/Historical Note

Jan Wilking, a Casper architect, kept architectural drawings of many important buildings in Casper and around Wyoming that he helped design. His work dates as far back as 1909, and includes the only known drawings of the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp located near Powell. The Heart Mountain Relocation Camp was used during World War II as a Japanese internment camp and eventually housed 11,000 people. Mr. Wilking died in 1980.
