02.05.04 Civil Case Papers, undated-1922

 File

Scope and Contents

Various records, such as motions, petitions, briefs, subpoenas, depositions, transcripts and evidence, from civil case files. The cases listed below contain documents to compliment case files. See also case files. Included in this series are records from Johnson, Crook, and Big Horn Counties.

Box 2 contains three file folders of evidence (1894 1908) deeds, correspondence and recorded documents. Much of this relates to William Wrighter et al, A. H. Warmstedt, John Weltner, and James Terrill. Because these documents could not be connected to a specific case, they have been inter-filed and are in chronological order. Of special interest are a floor plan to Totty's Saloon in Kaycee, Articles of Incorporation for mining companies, specifications for brick school house (1906) and correspondence between W. Metz and James Terrill. Receipts, while of little historical value except in regard to specific case, have a special value as documentation of previous businesses in the county.
