Series III: Downtown Association

 Series

Scope and Content

From the Collection:

The Chamber's activities are best documented for the period 1955 to 1977. During this period, it created various committees for reviewing various facets of Cheyenne's commercial environment. Committee minutes and subject files include national and state issues, Cheyenne Frontier Days, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, education, taxation, business climate, and tourist publications. Dates for the respective files may not be inclusive.

This collection also includes records from two related organizations. Records of the Chamber's precursor, the Industrial Club of Cheyenne, consist of various financial records and publications. Because of the overlapping of activities during the transition from the Industrial Club to the Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Club's records have not been listed as a separate series

Records of the Downtown Association are also included in the collection. An organization independent of the Chamber, the Association's activities and concerns mirrored those of the Chamber. Among the records are correspondence, bulletins, minutes of an annual meeting, and by-laws.
