Scope and Contents
These files contain:
(1) correspondence requesting a reprieve, threat letters to Governor Chatterton
(2) gallows construction costs and related expenses
(3) coroner's inquest
(4) affidavits and corre-spondence attesting to Horn's character and individ-uals acquaintance with Horn
(5) testimonies and affidavits of individuals as to their conversations with Horn, their version of the incident, their location at the time of the incident
(6) requisitions for the commutation of the sentence of hanging for Tom Horn. Sworn statements may be found by such notables as: Tom Horn, Joseph Lefors, John Coble, C. B. Irwin and members of the Miller family. NOTE: Entire set has been duplicated and is in the subject file.
