Scope and Contents
Docket books provide summaries of civil and criminal court proceedings. Information includes names of plaintiff and defendant, nature of charge or com-plaint, disposition, fine and court costs. Entries also include marriages and coroner's inquests. Most volumes are indexed.
Of note is the 1894 case (vol. 2 p. 38) in which Red Cloud, Richard Roe, and John Doe (Jack Red Cloud and Dreaming Bear) of the Ogallala Lakota tribe were found guilty of illegally harvesting game.
