Patent Books (Land), November 23, 1920 - December 6, 1922
Scope and Contents
Land patents are official documents or instruments which record the conveyance of public lands to private entities or individuals.
The majority of land patents in these volumes reflect land sales of public domain, desert lands and/or homestead allotments within the boundaries of Campbell County which transpired between residents of the "territory of the unorganized county of Campbellā¦" and the federal government's General Land Office, Department of the Interior. Originally filed at district land offices in Crook, Weston, and Johnson Counties, these land conveyances were later recorded with the Campbell County Clerk's Office upon the County's official organization in 1913.
Patent information includes filing date with County Clerk, recorded patent number, type of land patent, land description by section, township, and range, and name of district land office where the conveyance was originally recorded.
