Scope and Contents

Included in the folder are a Summary Report on the 'Documents West Project', a "Fact Sheet" detailing the proposed exhibition, and a brochure identifying the "Top 100 Centennial Events" offered within the six states involved. Brochure includes dates of events and a brief description of each.

"Documents West" was a national project conceived as a way to bring an element of serious, historical reflection to the centennial celebrations of the six states observing 100-year statehood anniversaries in 1989 and 1990 (Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota). It was to consist of an exhibition featuring archival documents central to the development of the six Centennial states, and would serve as a focal point for the states' Centennial celebrations. It apprears the project was never completed.
