01.02.01 Correspondence, December 1945 - December 1952
Scope and Contents
Incoming and outgoing correspondence on the administration of veterans' apprentice and on the job training programs. Files contain letters to and from local businesses, the Wyoming Approval Committee, Veterans' Administration, and other state and federal agencies, applications from veterans and businesses, agreements, and reports on programs and business establishments. The volume and range of correspondence concern mainly policies, procedures and administration of training programs but also provide information on the labor market in Wyoming, including vocational and apprentice programs and standards, wage scales, and the background of businessmen/instructors. Correspondence of 1961 consists almost entirely of individual notices on the discontinuation of the program.
Box 4 also contains a historical summary and newspaper clip-pings. The summary is hand written and provides an overview of statistics and administration of veterans' programs in Wyoming. The report was probably written in the late 50s for publication. The newspaper clippings consist of four articles by David B. Griffith, Secretary of the Wyoming State Committee for Approval of Establishments, on the purĀ¬pose, administration and benefits of veterans' on the job training programs.
