Scope and Contents
The Lake DeSmet Ditch Company was organized in 1886 to provide irrigation water to landowners in Johnson County. In the 1970s, Texaco became a major shareholder and operator. An offshoot of the company is the Lake DeSmet Energy Company in 1996.
The collection contains various corporation records about the operation and management of the company and its property.
