The former Western Writers of America Membership Chairman (1999-2005) and Board Member (2004-2006) and his wife, Florence, make their home in Cheyenne, WY. They have four grown children. Text from the Wyoming Authors wiki.
These are the research files for Brown’s Petticoat Prisoners of Old Wyoming, published by High Plains Press in 2001. They contain notes on women prisoners in Wyoming from 1880 to 2003, arranged roughly by prisoner number. Brown decided not to continue researching prisoners after 1980, when the preponderance of women’s offenses became drug related. He felt coverage of these crimes warranted a different kind of book, one he wasn’t planning to write.
