American Guide Series - WPA, 1936
Scope and Contents
The American Guide Series was a program of the Works Progress Administration’s Federal Writer’s Project. The Project was implemented to provide employment for white-collared workers during the Great Depression. The product of the American Guide Series was a guide to the cultural, historical, and scenic attractions of each state.
Ms. Champ was in charge of contributions from Crook County to the guide for Wyoming. The series includes a long manuscript for the guide, a copy of a local newspaper clipping about the project, portions of a coded outline for the guide, two letters, a list of consultants, and a list of sources.
