02.01.05 Surveyor's Field Notes (Field Books), bulk: ca. 1890 – 1985 (overall)
Scope and Contents
Field Books contain information concerning various surveys or projects completed by the City of Cheyenne including curbs and gutters, sewers, waterlines and some capital facilities construction projects.
Individual survey entries usually consist of a series of left to right columns, which provide specific information about a survey. Four separate subseries identified include an alphabetical series, A – Z, which covers construction of water lines from reservoirs to the city; a numerical series, 1-36, covering sanitary sewers; a large numerical series, 2 - 140; 320 - 732 (not inclusive), covering various projects; and a miscellaneous series covering District #10 projects, 1928 pipeline project, 1929 Central Avenue Viaduct (Riner Viaduct), 1895 - 1898 water system project 1906 - 1909 improved water supply system, 1920 - 1924 topographic notes on sidewalks, streets and lots, and two miscellaneous series (see indexes).

Arrangement
By type, then numerically or alphabetically by letter or number. Indexes appear at the front of most books and have been microfilmed separately to provide some access to the entire series. Books are arranged in the following order: numerical series (1 – 36) for sanitary sewers; alphabetical series for water supply lines (A - Z); main numerical series (2 – 140; 320 - 732 [not inclusive] for various projects; miscellaneous series.
