Scope and Contents
Copies of the Carey Act, which ceded arid lands of the United States to the states and territories. Also included is a copy of a bill authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to survey irrigated lands in the arid region for reclamation, and testimony by Charles Pollard of Converse County for the U.S. Senate Committee on Irrigation supporting the donation of irrigable public lands to the territory.
