Scope and Contents
In an attempt to measure the success of schools in meeting Wyoming Content and Performance Standards, the Education Department enacted the Wyoming Comprehensive Assessment System (WyCAS). This program began with the Enrollment Act II (1997) as a result of a Wyoming Supreme Court decision. The tests measure reading, writing and mathematic ability of students in 4th, 8th and 11th grades.
